What Hair Color Should I Choose?
Keeping up with the latest hair coloring trends, which range from celebrities to influencers, can be an exciting but overwhelming process. The majority of our clients have a general idea of what they want their hair to look like. Perhaps you want to go lighter or darker, add a pop of auburn, or go for a whimsical, pastel, unicorn-inspired look with bright fashion colors. “Will it look like the photo?” is the number one question on every beauty guru’s mind.
Every goddess is unique, which adds to the allure of glamour. The appearance of all-over color is influenced by hair texture, cut, natural coloring, and even skin tone. Your luxury stylist will assess your vision, hair, and personal style at the start of your appointment to help you choose the best shade for you. When it comes to a basic tone like “red” or “blonde,” there are hundreds of options. There’s a perfect match for every diva, from warm to cool, soft to bold. We can even assist you in transitioning from dark to light hair or selecting low-maintenance hair colors to fit your busy schedule.
Whatever path your all-over hair color adventure takes, we’ll be there to support you.
High End Hair Colors
All-over color isn’t the same as boxed hair dye or do-it-yourself coloring. This one-step treatment, also known as “single-process hair color,” involves carefully painting a single shade throughout your hair.
When it comes to all-over color, there are three levels of commitment: semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent. As you might expect, the strength and longevity of these levels differ. Permanent colors are the most long-lasting and are a little more difficult on your hair. This ammonia blend formula, on the other hand, has the ability to lighten or darken strands up to four levels in either direction. Combining these all-over color treatments with a deep conditioning Olaplex treatment or hair masque is an excellent way to keep your new hair soft and resilient, even after a dramatic transformation. Semi and demi shades offer a softer transition that can last up to 24 washes, with semi-permanent hair colors being the gentlest and fastest to fade.
Only high-end hair colors are used at Lush Hair Folk Salon. The industry’s brightest and boldest line. Each of our expert colorists has over 6 years of luxury salon experience as well as color course certifications, allowing them to create the most fashionable looks while keeping your hair light, radiant, and silky soft.

How Long Will My All Over Hair Color Last?
Your hair color’s life and longevity are determined by a number of factors, including your hair type, the amount of damage your hair may be undergoing, and the level of dye permanence chosen by your colorist. Chemically based, single-process hair dyes with varying permanence designed to lift or darken at different levels are our preferred hair colors. Based on your dye type, here’s how many washes you can expect your color to last:
- Semi-permanent dyes do not contain peroxide and only color the outer layer of the hair. This type of dye should last between 6 and 12 washes because it is the color with the least amount of permanence.
The amount of lifting peroxide in demi-permanent hair color is minimal. Color is deposited between the cuticle and the cortex. As a result, demi-permanent hair dyes will last longer than semi-permanent formulas and will typically last 12 to 24 washes before needing to be refreshed.
Before using, permanent hair dye must be mixed with a developer and activator. It can lighten or darken hair up to four levels, altering the color composition of your hair permanently. This gives it a long life span; you won’t need to reapply color for four to eight weeks, or roughly 16-32 washes.
Will Coloring My Hair Harm My Hair?
Your stylist may need to use a permanent hair color containing hydrogen peroxide to achieve long-lasting, dramatic color changes. The cuticle layer of the hair is opened in order for the color molecules to penetrate and deposit the desired color.
As a result, you won’t be able to prevent a certain amount of damage. Your Lush Hair Folk stylist, on the other hand, will know how to avoid over-processing. We also know what products to use after coloring to repair and nourish the hair. Are you worried about causing too much damage to your hair during your Houston hair color appointment? Then talk to your stylist about semi-permanent and demi-permanent color options.
How Much Does an All Over Hair Coloring Appointment at Lush Hair Folk Salon Cost?
Is your hair normal to fine? Do you have hair that is extra thick or very long? Do you plan on getting a haircut in addition to your color and blowout? Do you intend to add a few extra foils to your appointment for highlights or lowlights? All of these factors influence the amount of time and dye required for your service, as well as the final cost. For a complete cost and time breakdown, please see our Pricing page. If you’re a new client, we also recommend starting with a 15-minute color consultation to ensure our stylists understand your vision completely.
