Volunteering our time at local non-profits, schools, homeless shelters, and animal shelters is one of the most effective ways of giving back. Time is valuable, and giving it to others can make a huge difference in their lives.
When used materials, such as plastic, are recycled, they are converted into new products. This is extremely beneficial to the environment because it reduces the use of natural resources and pollution.
Lush Hair Folk is dedicated to having a positive impact on as many people as possible. In fact, a portion of every dollar spent at Lush Hair Folk Salon supports people and causes all over the world.

BIG SISTER LITTLE SISTER
Big Sister Little Sister Mentoring Program, a nonprofit organization geared towards impacting women and communities nationwide. Big Sister Little Sister is a mentoring program for women that promotes self-confidence, life skills, and social appropriateness by way of invigorating programs and projects.
YOU CAN FREE US
Youcanfree.us is an international movement that rescues women out of forced prostitution, providing them home, rehabilitation, and care.
It gives these women hope and freedom, allowing them to begin a new chapter in their lives. It also exists to raise awareness about human trafficking and to work with local public and private institutions to prevent it.
WIGS FOR KIDS
Wigs For Kids is a nonprofit organization that has been serving children suffering from hair loss since 1981. We at Lush Hair Folk understand how difficult it can be for kids when they lose their locks, not just physically but also emotionally and spiritually as well because of the change in appearance. This change in appearance also affects the way they feel about themselves.

BUFFALO BAYOU PARTNERSHIP
Buffalo Bayou Partnership is the non-profit organization revitalizing and transforming Buffalo Bayou, Houston’s most significant natural resource. Founded in 1986, Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s (BBP) geographic focus is the 10-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou from Shepherd Drive to the Port of Houston Turning Basin.
HOUSTON AREA WOMEN'S CENTER
Houston Area Women’s Center has helped countless survivors affected by domestic and sexual violence. Help us continue fulfill our mission.
Our goal is to help survivors in the Houston area heal from the abuse they have experienced, equip them with the emotional, psychological and practical skills and resources they need to move forward and to restore their hope in a safe future, free of abuse and fear.
Clean Water Initiatives & Environmental
Every April, we raise money and awareness to bring attention to the world’s water crisis. With only one in seven people on the planet having access to clean water, this is such a worthy cause.
Since 2016, Lush hair Folk’s Earth Month efforts has zeroed in on the world water crisis, raising $1,000 to protect clean water. This year has funded Earth Day:
– Protect or improve 550,000 people’s access to clean water
– Support 16,000 women in becoming activists for clean water in their communities
– Enable 275 communities to take action against toxic industrial pollution
– Fund hundreds of other clean water projects
